In Artistry, Teaching, Learning, and Living, may we remember and embody the truth of who we are.... bridging the Spirit and Body, the Sacred and Profane...
Heather Hutton often calls herself a "Weaver" in the way she works and moves through the world, bringing together various styles of music and teachings to serve people of all ages and backgrounds. Her first muses as a child were singing and dancing, which were later partnered with playing the violin at age nine and a budding interest in psychology by age 12.
A Humboldt County native, she graduated from Humboldt State University with a degree in Music (vocal emphasis) and a teaching degree. She has worked as a public school music specialist in over 7 schools, serving mostly elementary aged children. She has also been a Music Director for conservatory productions and Church services. With a diverse background of vocal experience (solo/ensemble) including Jazz, Classical (soprano soloist for The Messiah..., Rock, Middle Eastern, and Opera (Rogue Opera Schools Tour); she combines her skill and technique with a natural and organic healing quality. She brings this fullness and beauty into her original songs ("Closing the Divide"), vocal coaching, and Music Ministry.
As a Voice coach, she utilizes a unique approach involving movement, breath, and personal growth psychology. She has evolved her personal study, vocal experience and explorations with self and others into ongoing group classes (The "Unified Voice").
In addition to vocal coaching, Heather continues to teach in the public school system, serve as Music Director for "Unity in Ashland" and perform original songs, culminating in her first CD, "Closing the Divide" in the Spring of 2008. Heather has also recently become Director for the "Rogue Valley Peace Choir." Heather's Voice, songs, and coaching are received by many as magical, powerful, and transformational on many levels.
